40kWp / 30kVA SOLAR PV ROOF-MOUNTED SYSTEM

Lot 1555 Avignon Way, Beechboro, WA, 6063

Commissioned July 2023

Perdaman Advanced Energy (PAE) was awarded the contract to design and install a 40 kWp / 30 kVA rooftop solar PV system at West Beechboro Primary School under the Department of Education’s Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund Program 2023–2024.

Project Objectives:

By generating clean, onsite energy, the system enables the school to reduce its dependence on grid electricity, lower exposure to rising energy costs, and achieve long-term operational savings. This initiative supports West Beechboro Primary School’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. It also aligns with Western Australia’s Climate Policy, which targets net-zero emissions by 2050 and aims to improve climate resilience across sectors.

The system comprises 80 high-efficiency 500 W Trina Solar panels, integrated with one Fronius Symo 20.0-3-M inverter and two Fronius Symo 5.0-3-M inverters. This configuration delivers a reliable and scalable renewable energy solution aligned with the City’s broader sustainability objectives. The system was successfully commissioned and energised in July 2023.

To maximise performance and cost efficiency, the solar system was strategically distributed across two separate buildings. A 13.5 kWp array was installed on the Teaching Block 2, connected to two 5 kVA inverters. The remaining 26.5 kWp was installed on the Arts and Music Block, connected to a 20 kVA inverter.

This dual-building design approach was carefully engineered to optimise energy generation while ensuring efficient load distribution across the campus. It also helped minimise infrastructure costs by reducing the need for extensive cabling and simplifying the installation process.
