36kWp / 30kVA SOLAR PV ROOF-MOUNTED SYSTEM
9 Beaman St, Dianella WA 6059
Commissioned March 2024
Perdaman Advanced Energy (PAE) was awarded the tender to design and install a 36kWp / 30 kVA solar PV system for Dianella Height Primary School as a part of the Department of Education’s Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund Program 2023-2024.
Project Objectives:
- Reduce electricity expenditure through self-generation of clean energy
- Facilitate the adoption of renewable energy in public infrastructure
- Align with Western Australia’s Climate Policy, which targets net-zero emissions by 2050 and aims to improve climate resilience across sectors
The System features 72 high-efficiency Trina Solar 500 W panels, integrated with a 2 robust Fronius Symo 15.0-3-M inverter, providing reliable and scalable renewable energy to support the City’s sustainability goals. The system was fully commissioned and brought online in March 2024.
Operational Insights:
Peak solar generation typically occurs during summer. On a particular day in November, the school’s electricity consumption from solar system alone was recorded to 230.60 kWh. This highlights the system’s effectiveness in reducing reliance on grid electricity.

In accordance with Western Power regulations for commercial solar systems, export capacity is restricted to minimise the impact on the local grid. As such, this system has been configured with an export limit of 1.5 kW, ensuring that minimal to no excess energy is exported to the grid.
The design and engineering teams strategically customised the solar system across two separate buildings to optimise energy production and load distribution. A 18.5 kW PV array is installed on building 1 connected to one 15kVA inverter and the remaining 17.5 kW is connected to the other building integrated with the other 15kVA inverter. This approach improved efficiency and significantly reduced infrastructure costs, such as cabling and installation complexity.
