Morley Sports & Recreational Centre

99.9 kWp / 100 kVA SOLAR PV ROOFTOP SYSTEM

Perdaman Advanced Energy (PAE) was awarded the tender to design, supply, and install a 100 kW solar energy system at the Morley Sports and Recreation Centre for the City of Bayswater. The project was successfully commissioned in May 2022. The system was installed across two major roof spaces – the newly constructed basketball building and the older existing building. Special care was taken to protect the new basketball court flooring during installation; a transportable wheeled scaffold was utilised to ensuring zero damage to the facility. At the same time, the older roof was undergoing refurbishment, requiring PAE to work collaboratively with other trades and adapt to the City of Bayswater’s scheduling requirements. Additionally, as daytime shutdowns were not feasible, commissioning was strategically conducted overnight, between 10:30 PM and 2:00 AM, to avoid any disruption to the centre’s operations or its patrons. The 99.9 kWp solar PV system is designed to generate approximately 180,000 kWh of clean, renewable energy annually. This generation will offset around 144,000 kg of CO₂ emissions each year, delivering an environmental impact equivalent to the carbon absorption capacity of approximately 6,615 mature trees annually.
