40kWp / 30kVA SOLAR PV ROOF-MOUNTED SYSTEM
8 Bolero Rd, Aveley WA 6069
Commissioned July 2023
Perdaman Advanced Energy (PAE) was awarded the tender to design and install a 40 kWp / 30 kVA solar PV system for Aveley Primary School as a part of the Department of Education’s Schools Clean Energy Technology Fund Program.
The System features 80 high-efficiency Trina Solar 500 W panels spread across three different buildings within the school complex and integrated with a robust Fronius Symo 15.0-3-M inverter and 3 Fronius Symo 5.0-3-M inverter, providing reliable and scalable renewable energy to support the City’s sustainability goals. The system was fully commissioned and brought online in July 2023. A 13.5 kWp array was installed on the Administration building, connected to two 5 kVA inverters. The other 20 kWp was installed on the Teaching block 1, connected to a 15 kVA inverter. The remaining 6.5 kWp is connected to Teaching Block 2, connected to a 5 kVA inverter.
Wireless Communication Bridges Enable Seamless Monitoring Across Multi-Building Solar Installations
With solar systems spread across multiple physically separated buildings and to establish Western Power Export limitation, the team implemented wireless links using UBIQUITY antennas as bridges between buildings and the Site Main Switch board. These antennas enabled seamless transmission of inverter data to the Fronius Smart meter located within the SMSB.
Optimised Solar Design for Efficient Load Distribution and Cost Savings
The design and engineering teams strategically customised the solar system across two teaching blocks and one administration building to optimise energy production and load distribution. This approach improved efficiency and significantly reduced infrastructure costs, such as cabling and installation complexity.
