85.02 kWp / 75 kVA / 57.6 kWh SOLAR PV GROUND MOUNTED SYSTEM
Perdaman Advanced Energy was tendered to design, supply and the supply and installation of an 85.02 kWp hybrid system for city of Karratha commissioned in October 2018.
The project involved several site-specific challenges, such as high soil resistivity and the presence of large rocks, which posed difficulties in installation. To address these, innovative solutions were implemented, including the redesign of the concrete footings to ensure secure anchoring in rocky soil conditions. A specialized grounding system was designed to account for the high soil resistivity, ensuring system safety and reliability. The site’s limited access required precise logistics planning, and customized lifting equipment was used to transport and position heavy components efficiently.

The successful installation of the hybrid PV system resulted in a highly efficient and reliable power solution that met the energy needs for the Karratha Works Depot. The system now provides substantial savings on energy costs, reduces reliance on the grid, and significantly decreases the environmental impact of its operations. With the inclusion of the Pylontech battery storage systems, the facility is able to store excess energy produced during the day for use during peak demand times, enhancing overall energy independence. The project has been highly praised for its seamless execution despite the challenging site conditions, demonstrating PAE’s ability to innovate and deliver in complex environments.
